Candlelight Dances

Candlelight dances
Shadows play where eyes can't see
Flickering waltzes
As the hollow-glass tune begins
Humble offerings
Each movement a gift to life
Giving and receiving
With brilliant breath that sparks
Fragile flames flicker
While underfoot damp supports
Crackling kindling
Eagerly giving itself away
Warmth increases
With each step, laugh, and smile
Haunting loss
Doesn't disturb, and sits quietly by
Raised hands
Point to the sky stretching strong
Bass drills
Into reverberating breast, feeling
Sweat soaks through
Creating damp softness in space
Gaze locks
Gentle recognition of something
Stars pulsate
To join in with each shimmer
Burning bright
Long, long into the night
